Fancourt & Fancourt Manor House

A perfect getaway close by, with breathtaking views and beautiful gardens. The service was exceptional from the moment we arrived at the security desk until we left. It’s safe and child friendly, with plenty of activities for the kids.

The setting is stunning, with beautifully kept grounds surrounded by nature. We enjoyed the rooms, the service, and how lovely everyone was. There are three great golf courses, including “The Links,” South Africa’s number one golf course. We had a lovely four days and hope to return to SA soon to do it again.

I really enjoyed the stay. A few things to keep in mind: the Roman bath is only for guests aged 18 and over, the pools close a little early, and the food isn’t fully halal.

The facilities are excellent and the staff are great, but golf during the December holiday was very distracting. Children and other non-golfers were all over the pristine course, and entitled members and residents seemed to add to the problem. On the Outeniqua 18th, I nearly hit a family with small children walking across the course. At the signature hole, there was a big party, and a mother and child were talking less than a metre from me during my backswing. That’s not on. Non-golfers need better control, and I wouldn’t book golf here during holiday season.
