The staff are friendly and do try to help, though they don’t seem fully trained in hospitality. Our room had worn, cracked furniture and patches of bare paint. Neither the aircon nor the ceiling fan worked. There was no opening window apart from the bathroom one, so I had to sleep with the front door open. It’s in a nice area, within driving distance of Vincent mall, but not especially close to tourist spots. There’s off-street parking, a pool with no seating, and Wi-Fi. The TV isn’t smart, so you can’t connect a device or watch YouTube or Netflix. It does have a full DSTV bouquet, with a wide range of sports and some movie channels. The self-catering setup was just an old microwave perched on the fridge, with cables in a messy tangle. I wouldn’t stay here again.

I’d booked and paid for a self-catering unit for four nights, but there were no kitchen facilities. The unit also needed a good clean, and one bathroom basin had an “out of order” sign. What a disappointing stay. I left after two nights and had to find somewhere else.

Spent a lovely time here with my lovely mothers. It’s clean, and the service is surpub. I’d recommend it for a family weekend away, couples in love, or a friends outing from all over the shore.

We were overbooked, and the owner of this BnB was arrogant and unwilling to sort out our accommodation problem. He wanted to move us to his other BnB, but it was inferior, with filthy rooms that smelled strongly and unpleasantly. We refused to stay there. He then arranged another place with a different BnB, which also had inferior services to those offered at Cycad. Very disappointing.

The place is nice and cosy, but the toilet wasn’t clean and the sheets had stains. There was no microwave in the room, so I had to go to the main kitchen to use one.
