The only snag I noticed is the stairs, which could be difficult for older guests since there’s no lift. Otherwise, I had a lovely stay and would happily recommend it. The staff are warm and helpful, and the place feels private and homey. The self-catering apartment had what I needed, from a little study area and open kitchen to the lounge with comfy couches and DSTV. There’s also a shower and toilet. Simple, neat and comfortable, and the beds were good too.

We left in a hurry because the dirt and smell were so bad. The entrance door was broken, and getting my refund took a whole month and plenty of excuses. I only got 70% back. The receptionist, I think her name was angelique, was rude. I can’t believe the good reviews here are real, they seem 100% fake. We found a really nice place on glen street, just 2 minutes away. This was the worst experience in South Africa.

Bookings.com gave great customer service, but the apartment itself was a horrible experience. It was in very bad shape and definitely not as advertised. The bathroom and oven were dirty, and the couch was torn. I’d rate the facilities a 1 and wouldn’t recommend it based on the difference between what was shown and what we got.

We expected to stay longer, but ended up leaving for somewhere quieter near the beachfront. The accommodation was budget level and priced accordingly after our trip via the Camdeboo. The problem was the shouting and screaming from the apartment block next door. Someone on the street told us it was unsupervised children. It was so loud we went out to get away from it, and when we got back at 20h30, it was even worse.
