39 on Nile Guesthouse

I spent a week at 39 on Nile and found it clean, comfortable, and peaceful. Edouard was a very friendly host who did more than expected to make the place welcoming. The secure parking out front gave me peace of mind, and the included breakfast was delicious and well prepared. The service and accommodation were excellent for the affordable rate, so I highly recommend the guesthouse to anyone visiting Port Elizabeth.

The cottage was especially good for our family, with plenty of space, two beds, a kitchen, lounge, and a nice bathroom. The facilities are compact and family friendly, and everything is self-catering apart from the breakfast, which was made with care. Ed made sure we were well catered for and shared tips about PE. During South Africa's Loadshedding, he kept us informed in advance about the schedules and what to expect. We enjoyed our stay, all five stars. What a lovely gent.

Edward was very friendly and even provided an extra room for our child. He also helped us find tourist options and places to visit. The apartment was spacious, with a complete kitchen, and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was good, with continental or Italian options, though don't expect an espresso. The power often goes out, but Edward provides a lamp. Very clean and comfortable, a nice place to stay and recommended.

The host was attentive to guests' individual needs and let me choose between rooms. The setup worked well for self-catering, and my room had DSTV, which was hard to find on my Garden Route trip. The WiFi also worked flawlessly.
