Garden Court Kings Beach

The room was spacious, one of the biggest we had on our Garden Route trip, with gorgeous views and really quick service. I enjoyed our stay 100%. The breakfast omelet was good, though I didn’t care for the scrambled eggs sitting in the bain-marie for who knows how long.

Breakfast was very good, but as non-pork eaters we had to keep asking for beef sausage. It felt unpleasant, like it was being smuggled out to us from the back kitchen as if it were illegal. The room had no cutlery or plate, which we sometimes needed for food brought in from outside, and no dishcloth or anything to wipe dishes or spills off the counter. The TV picture was unclear and dated, as if someone needed to go outside and fix the aerial. I’m sure Garden Court can afford Netflix or Showmax. I also received flowers, but when I asked for a vase, the hotel couldn’t provide one or help find a substitute.

The bathrooms were the only nice part. The rooms are small, smell bad, and there’s nowhere to put luggage. The bed smelled too. The curtains had dirty water marks, and the lace curtains didn’t match, one side cream white and the other white. The hotel is like formular 1.

Our night was uncomfortable and we slept badly. The family room felt too small for four, and the bathroom taps wouldn’t shut properly, so the shower and bath kept running. We also woke to water dripping onto the bedroom carpet and found that the air conditioner had been leaking all night. At reception, a male staff member was unfriendly and made us feel unwelcome. Even though we were a family of four with several bags, no porter was available or offered to help. We wouldn’t recommend this place to families or return.
