Pumba Private Game Reserve

The lodges, food, and game drives were all incredible. Wow, what a place. If safari is what you're after, this is the place to go.

We saw such a huge range of animals with our guide Phillip, from cheetahs, lions, elephants and hippos to rhinos, baboons, impala, warthogs, giraffes and beautiful birds. The list just kept going. The drives, room, food and people were all done so well. Love, love, love. Go for three nights, and pick early morning and later drives so it isn't too hot. Bring warm layers too. One of the best holidays ever. Thank you.

Lena deserves a special mention as our driver. She was knowledgeable, kind-hearted and accommodating, and varied each drive. We got plenty of time with all the animals we came across. She's a real asset to Pumba. We loved our three-night stay at Pumba Reserve. The park, rooms, food and staff were all exceptional, and the views were incredible. Whenever we came back from dinner or a drive, our room was spotless. Dinner staff were fabulous and always checked that we were doing okay. There was lots of variety, and the food was fantastic. Reception staff were always available when we needed anything, and made my partner's birthday really special. We also treated ourselves to a treatment, which was very nice. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Pumba for an unforgettable experience!

Between the two daily game drives, the amazing food and first-class hospitality made the time fly. Our ranger, Nati, was knowledgeable and patient, knew where to find the animals, and we had plenty of close encounters. Every team member helped make the stay enjoyable. At Water Lodge, each chalet has an amazing room with a private balcony over the lake. After the three-course dinner, we returned to find the fire lit and hot water bottles waiting in bed. Spectacular from start to finish, and we'd definitely recommend it!
