Waking up to the sounds of nature and enjoying the outdoors were highlights of our lovely weekend at Oukip Game Lodge. We stayed in one of the tents, which was clean, comfortable and well kept. The peaceful setting made it easy to relax. The lodge feels close to nature but still has the comforts you need, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. I’d recommend it if you want a restful getaway with a camping feel and some comfort. Thanks for a great weekend, we hope to visit again! 🔥🍺🍷🥩 vdMerwe's

The staff’s thoughtfulness showed in small touches like nut rusk snacks and a vanity kit in the room. The braai area was great, and the on-site 24/7 shop had everything from essentials to South African souvenirs. We really valued how private each tent felt, since they were spaced far apart. There was lots of wildlife around. Kudus roam the farm freely alongside other farm animals, and seeing tortoises was a lovely surprise. Our tent faced a waterhole just beyond the lodge fence, where we watched a family of warthogs from our camper chairs. Hornbills often visited the tent, and one night a bush baby, a galago, appeared while we sat quietly stargazing. Gilbert’s game drives were fantastic. We had close encounters with elephants and rhinos, and saw a lot. We also spotted jackals on the drive in, and on our way out saw elephants, giraffes and wildebeest by ourselves. The booking directions were really useful, and we followed those instead of the Google Maps address without trouble. It was such a wonderful stay at OuKlip Game lodge, and we’d love to come back. Many thanks to Gilbert and his family for being so welcoming!

The tent was clean, cared for and had everything we needed to be comfortable. The beds were comfortable too, and everything worked, though getting the shower water to the right temperature was hit and miss. Check-in was quick and easy, and the honesty shop was well stocked. There’s a playground for kids and some farm animals to see. The location is great, just outside Pretoria. You do have to drive on a gravel road to get there, but it’s nothing too difficult.

Three Welsh lads came to OuKlip for our first safari, and we couldn’t have asked for a much better experience. We did plenty of self-driving and saw lots of animals, but none of the Big Five until Gilbert took us on a game drive. That unforgettable drive brought us to two of the five. Gilbert and his partner were kind and helpful, and he was incredibly knowledgeable. It’s a beautiful venue, and the hosts seemed ready to do whatever they could to help. Dinokeng is magical, and OuKlip is a gem right in the heart of it.

The game viewing was stunning, and the luxury tents were spotless and very well equipped. The owners and staff went out of their way to meet our needs. A real gem, and I’d love to return.
