The nearby dam and lake were absolutely incredible, and staying here was a relaxing, quiet respite for a few days with my husband in January. It’s a quaint little treasure, though getting elsewhere nearby takes a bit of effort. We walked around the area every day, but found it hard to figure out where the public hiking trails were. Every trail or interesting spot seemed to be beyond private property, which was frustrating.

After a long drive, this little haven feels like home. The grounds are beautiful, serene and calming, and it’s perfectly located for my Gauteng to KZN drive. The restaurant serves delicious food, but the wait is very long, so plan for that.

The rooms and garden setting feel grounding, and I had a peaceful night’s rest before getting back on the road. It’s very convenient for N3 travellers. The food was so good that, if I lived nearby, I’d visit just to eat there.

A lovely farm-like setting, with donkeys and an ostrich on the property. The grounds are so well kept they could enter a show gardens competition, especially those roses! There are paddle courts and a pool, plus a chapel for weddings, and the venue has all the amenities for corporate events and weddings. Catering was excellent, and the staff were helpful and friendly. You can hear highway traffic at night, but it didn’t keep me awake.
