The rooms were clean and comfortable, and I had a really good stay. I’ll definitely book again.

Lovely gardens and a beautiful view, with a really nice interior. Coffee, sugar and milk were all provided, and the service was very friendly.

We left at 6:30 a.m. after waking up to no power. With no light, we couldn’t feed our two-year-old twins or make coffee or tea. We asked the owner about the generator mentioned in other reviews, but he just shrugged and said there was nothing he could do. I’d also seen a different review where the owner said they do have a generator. For R750 a night, that was very disappointing. I wouldn’t stay again, and I don’t think they should be listed on LekkeSlaap or Airbnb at that price unless they upgrade or lower it. We’d booked an overnight stay in Harrismith based on the many good Google reviews, which surprise me now. The bed was in terrible shape, squeaking and bouncing with every small movement, so we couldn’t sleep. We moved ourselves and the twins onto the single beds, then had to even them out on the floor with mats and towels because they rocked back and forth when anyone moved. Looking back at older reviews, I noticed someone had mentioned the same bed problem four years ago, so it seems the mattresses were never replaced. The couches were also completely sat through, and the units need serious TLC. The host was friendly and accommodating when we arrived, but I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, especially families with small children. I’d never book here again.

We only stayed one night, and it was enough for what we needed. There’s a separate kitchen and bathroom.
