The staff, especially housekeeping, came across as very unfriendly, and we won't be back or recommending the place. For a week over the festive season, it felt extremely overpriced. The beds were very comfortable and the linen was nice, but otherwise I wouldn't call it luxury. The decor, crockery and glassware all feel very dated and need a major uplift. The kitchen is tiny, with no counter space to prepare anything, and it wasn't equipped well for a week-long stay. Our dishwasher was broken and took four days to replace. The property isn't really pet friendly if you have well-behaved dogs you don't keep leashed all the time. Even a large golden retriever can get under the farm pole fence, so you can't keep them in your own yard. And if you're hoping to avoid road noise, know that it's very close to the road.

The clean, well-kept pool and tidy house had everything we needed. Cows came by to visit, though they couldn't get into the private garden. The staff were super friendly and checked in after our first night to see if everything was okay. Everything exceeded our expectations.

The views are breathtaking, and the fully contained units were super clean. It's a tranquil place to unwind, with everything ticking the boxes. You won't regret booking here!

The Protea Cottage was comfortable, though the traffic noise during the day was a downside because it's close to the road. Flies were genuinely a problem, which is understandable on a farm, but we ended up spraying Doom every 30 minutes. The location is beautiful and the reception staff were friendly. Hot water in the kitchen takes a long time to come through, so water gets wasted. Comfortable, with reservations.

The farm setting means cows roam freely outside, so watch where you step when walking around beyond your cottage yard. There's a communal pool and a large children's play area. You won't get cellphone reception, though there's free WiFi in the cottage. The accommodation was lovely and luxurious, with everything you might need in the kitchen and bathrooms. The bedding was warm and soft, and there was a fireplace and a coffee machine with pods supplied, plus milk in the fridge 🤗.
