Hermanus Waterfront Apartment No.19

The shared rooftop terrace had beautiful ocean views, and our spacious room also had a balcony. Check-in went smoothly, with plenty of useful information sent ahead of our arrival, and the host was easy to reach and responsive throughout. We had a fantastic stay at Waterfront Apartments in Hermanus, right in a very central location. Highly recommended.

The bed was excellent, though the kitchen in the apartment was very limited. We also found a very tall shutter that seemed in danger of falling on us. We reported it when we arrived and got a pleasant reply on WhatsApp, but it was never fixed. The location is excellent, right on the seafront near lovely walks and some excellent seafood restaurants.

Parking was really well organized, and the place is so central that you can walk wherever you want. Communication was clear and everything went smoothly. We had a great time, thanks again for the stay!

The apartment felt like a bunker, with no natural light, and looked more like a mall storage room. Although the building itself was on the water, our windows faced garbage bins that looked as if they had never been washed. The rotten rubbish smell woke me at 6 in the morning, and by 7 workers were making noise outside. The room was humid, with black mould in the bathroom and plaster falling off. The bathroom window wouldn't close to keep the smell out, and the fan didn't work. The kitchen sink leaked, the toilet was visibly dirty with brown marks left by previous guests, and the duvet smelled strange. One hand towel was wet and stained, apparently used already. We complained and it was replaced 4-5 hours later. The towels seemed like a mismatched collection, with two different sizes and qualities for the bathroom towels. There were only two facial tissues, unfolded and stuffed into a bowl. They also forgot to give us the WiFi password, so we had to message them. This place is a scam and completely spoiled our vacation. My wife cried. We asked for reimbursement, but they gave lame excuses about not being able to upgrade us and offered us another night in that dump instead.
