The heated outdoor pool is cute and compact, and usable throughout the day. There’s no gym on site. Wi-Fi is free, works well across the property, and has good speed. The big smart TV has a wide range of sports, news, music, movies, and entertainment in several languages. Our room was 205, and it was genuinely impressive: spacious, well decorated, and large by boutique hotel standards. The ornate furnishings give the place character. Some suites have four-poster beds, spa baths, private balconies overlooking Walker Bay, and a real feel of indulgence. Our room had a lovely sea view from its cute balcony, a cooler that worked perfectly, a comfortable bed, a huge bathroom with a stand-in shower, and good quality toiletries. Staff were friendly, took care of our needs with a smile, and made us feel at home. A special shout-out to DANIELLE for making the stay even better and giving us such a warm welcome. The hotel is a quiet charmer on Marine Drive, with a grand, ornate lobby that feels like an old manor and is genuinely impressive for a town this size. It has earned its four-star TGCSA rating and mostly lives up to it. The property has added new floors, a penthouse level, and a private cinema over the years, which shows the owners are investing in it. There’s a warmth here you don’t always get in larger hotels, it feels run by people who care. At 21 Marine Drive, it’s about a 4-5 minute walk from the heart of Hermanus village, the craft markets, Old Harbour Museum, and Whale House Museum. The iconic Cliff Path, arguably one of the world’s best land-based whale watching spots, is right on the doorstep. The Heritage Restaurant is in the hotel garden beside the pool. It’s a pleasant place to eat, especially in the evening when the garden lights are on and the mood feels romantic.

The rooms are ultra spacious, with a beautiful ocean view, and the staff were helpful, courteous, and neat and tidy. The restaurant is connected to the hotel but in a separate building. Its food was fresh and brilliant, with a great vibe and taste. This hotel is a hidden gem and a must-stay.

We’ve stayed several times and will be back. There’s ample secure parking on site, and dinner was good, especially the fish, which was cooked perfectly and not overdone like you sometimes get elsewhere. The rooms are generously sized with good facilities, comfortable beds, and great sea views. It’s a lovely boutique hotel in a good location. Book breakfast as part of your stay for the wide choice and good value.

The sea views and peaceful feel made this such a relaxing escape. The rooms were beautifully done, balancing comfort with style, and the staff made us feel welcome from the start. This hotel went beyond what I expected. Highly recommend!
