I work from home, and the fast internet made my 10-week stay easy. Mobile reception was a little unreliable for calls, but the solar power meant no load shedding problems. The place has everything needed for a comfortable long stay, and the size is just right. It’s also well situated in town, with lovely nature all around. Kimberley is a wonderful host, kind and attentive, and has become a good friend (and Janet). She really goes out of her way to make guests feel at home. I’ve stayed at Amukela Kaya many times, and this latest visit was just as good as ever. We’ve already booked another long stay for next year. Thank you for another fantastic experience!

We loved sitting on the veranda while giraffes, zebras and warthogs wandered past. Amukela Kaya is a cozy, spotless cottage in Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate, with a quiet bush setting and great value for the comfort. Kimberley was friendly, attentive and quick to help. The kitchen is handy for self catering, and the solar backup is a real plus. Free Wi-Fi, AC and private parking are all there too, making it a lovely place to unwind on safari.

Kimberley was so welcoming and made sure we were comfortable throughout. The cottage is private but still gives you easy access to the Hoedspruit hub. It’s a beautiful, self-contained place with all the home comforts we needed and more. Backup power was a nice bonus, so load shedding and outages barely affected us.

The local wildlife often came right by: warthog, nyala and kudu in the yard, and giraffe in the street. We also had a lot of time with Kimberley and Janet, which added to the stay, though they’re fine if you’d rather have privacy. The cottage is spotless and stocked for cooking and working, including fibre internet. Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate feels private and safe, with excellent game viewing. We counted 16 different animals and even spotted a leopard in the green belt one night. We’ve stayed three times, most recently for nearly six weeks, and this cottage suits us perfectly. The hosts are amazing. Highly recommended!
