Dreamland Beach House & Studios at Supertubes

We stayed in the smallest room, which has direct beach access and a private deck right outside. The bed was really comfortable, and it's ideal for a quick stop in Jbay. If you want to cook for yourself, this unit may be a challenge, so a bigger room might work better. There are also some brilliant restaurants nearby.

This house has stolen our hearts, and we have a great time here every year. The view is incredible, and the owner is friendly and very laid back. It's self service, so I always bring extra kitchen appliances.

The one redeeming point was the little ocean view from the sitting area and how close it was to the beach. The rest left us extremely disappointed. No one was there to welcome us, and the woman I eventually found knew nothing about our booking. I called the gentleman at 13:50 and left a message, then called again. He said he only turns his phone on at 14:00. We couldn't enter the studio at 13:50, even though I asked, and when I asked whether the room was ready, he said it should be. I'm 58 and had a heavy suitcase, and carrying it up the steep wooden steps alone was quite a challenge. The outside seating area has no privacy, with houses directly opposite and everyone able to see you. There were cigarette butts left on the table. The microwave smelled so bad I nearly threw up, and something had previously thawed in the fridge's small freezer compartment and hadn't been cleaned. The bedding had rust stains and didn't look white. The drying cloth was dirty, burned, holey and discolored, so I went out and bought another. There was no mattress protector, the curtains weren't hung properly, and the handwash and shampoo looked identical, so I didn't risk using them. The toilet hadn't been cleaned. My coffee cup had a brown ring, and every water and wine glass was filthy. The towels didn't smell freshly washed, and the whole studio smelled unclean. Cleaning clearly isn't a priority. The cleaning staff either don't know what they're doing, don't care, or take no pride in it. Maybe my standards are high, but this studio isn't for me. Live and learn. The stay in Jeffrey's Bay wasn't pleasant, and the amount of building everywhere reminded me of a squatter camp.

I'm at a loss for words. The hospitality, facilities and beach were epic. Just like its name, Dreamland really is amazing. Thanks to Remi, we had the best experience. He's a brilliant host. 💪🤙
