The guesthouse itself is clean and beautiful, and the service was good. But our room by the pool was extremely noisy. The walls were so thin we could hear everything, and much of it seemed to come through a door to a passage or something. A chair was blocking that door, which led to who knows where, and sleeping near it didn’t feel safe. We complained, and the host said sorry and explained they were fixing something on the property. When we asked to switch rooms, we were told it would cost more.

Xolani and his team made us feel like friends almost as soon as we arrived, and gave us a five-star stay. My wife and I have been on many getaways, but we’ve never had hospitality, cleanliness, or comfort quite like this. The rooms and facilities were outstanding, and it’s a beautiful spot for a relaxed, friendly break. We’ll never forget the experience and will definitely return. Much love, George and Yolande' de Kock.

We came hoping our kids would have fun, but left feeling hurt and unwelcome. From the start, the stares and tense atmosphere made it seem like we weren't wanted, and the owner followed us as if we were criminals. It's 2025, and racism is still here. I would never recommend this place to any Coloured family. People need to do better.

Rain made the stay for me. Being surrounded by mountains, trees, greenery, and fresh air felt like a beautiful break from reality, and the jacuzzi, pool, and bathtubs added to the relaxed vibe. I absolutely loved it, and the staff were amazing, 10/10.

The pictures on Google show the place as it really is. While you're there, ask about the walking trails, enjoy the dam views, and get the staff's suggestions for nearby activities. The property is surrounded by lush greenery, the views are stunning, and the outdoor area was lovely for relaxing. I spent hours in the jacuzzi with other guests, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. It's also conveniently located for local attractions. I stayed at Map's View Guesthouse in Alberton with my partner, and the welcome from the staff was warm from the moment we arrived. They made sure we had what we needed, and the rooms were cosy and comfortable, with beautiful views of nature. Thando and Mr X took time to check in on us, and the service was excellent. Thank you to the whole team for an unforgettable, relaxing getaway. I'd highly recommend Map's View Guesthouse and will definitely be back.
