Woodlands Cottages & Camping

It looks nice online, but seeing the place in person was a different experience.

The walk down to the Bushmans River is lovely and peaceful, with beautiful scenery. The on-site restaurant was another nice surprise, serving hearty, tasty meals at reasonable prices in a relaxed setting. After a day of exploring, that was a real bonus. This campsite has basic facilities and no fancy amenities, but it’s budget-friendly, down-to-earth, pet friendly, and warmly welcoming. Matt is a big part of that, helpful and easy to approach, and you can tell he cares about making guests feel at home. It’s also safe and peaceful, with a sense of community you don’t always find in more polished places. It’s not luxury glamping, and it won’t suit people looking for that. But if you’re happy to trade some frills for a good price, authenticity, and a friendly welcome, it delivers.

The river trail was lovely, and the place was quiet and beautiful. We camped for 2 days in perfect weather, and there was everything we needed to stay comfortable: warm showers, a fridge, kettle, and wash basin. Well priced.

This was my third stay in Woodlands' cottages, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The cottage was clean, private, and well-equipped. I loved the outdoor bath, though it’s outdoors, so don’t expect a gleaming new tub or be surprised if trees and birds have left a little “decoration” on it. That’s part of the fun. The small team running the place is friendly and helpful, led by Matthew, and I think they do a great job maintaining the property. The friendly cats and dogs make it feel even more like home. Don’t miss the fish and chips! Excellent.
