The views are beautiful in daylight and again in the evening, and the honesty bar was a nice surprise, stocked with plenty of alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. Alkira Lodge has lots of space, so you hardly notice other guests, and the staff are very friendly. The amenities are all high spec. It's wonderfully quiet if you want to clear your head and recharge. Just keep in mind that getting to the center of Knysna takes a little drive, which you'll probably know when booking. Our stay was lovely, though we wish it had been longer.

We spent time by the pool and jacuzzi, a relaxing little retreat with wide views of the lagoon and hills. Alkira Lodge itself is lovely, with clean, thoughtfully designed rooms, and the Knysna Lagoon looks especially stunning at sunset from the deck with a sundowner. Sam welcomed us warmly, and Robyn and the rest of the team were attentive throughout. Robyn's fresh breakfasts were delicious and beautifully served. The lodge feels peaceful while still being close enough to Knysna and its attractions, so it's a good base whether you want to unwind or explore. Sam, Robyn, and the whole team made our visit memorable with their care and attention. Can't wait to return, and I'd recommend it to anyone after a luxurious but welcoming stay.

We celebrated our wedding weekend at Alkira lodge in January 2023, and Sam and her team made it run so smoothly. Sam even served dishes at the reception. The staff were kind, professional, attentive, and fun, and our wedding guests kept talking about how great they were. Every request was handled with care and a smile. The rooms were excellent, the views gorgeous, and the food was out of this world. Sam has made something special here, and my husband and I are already thinking about coming back for our fifth anniversary. So much love for Alkira.

The food was one of the best parts of our stay. The chef made wonderful dishes especially for us, and each meal felt thoughtful and full of flavor. Sam was also so warm and cheerful, and she paid close attention to our needs. Her suggestions for nearby places and things to do added a lot to the trip. Up on the hill, the lodge has lovely views of Buffels Bay, with a calm atmosphere and a size that felt just right for a peaceful break. I'd recommend it if you're looking for quiet and beautiful surroundings.

We stayed four nights and had a fabulous time. Alkira is a luxurious place in an unbelievable setting, with views that are hard to forget. Sam manages it really well, and the staff are kind and good to deal with. We got to try Robyn's cooking on two evenings, which was a real treat. Knysna, the beach, and the Garden Route nature are all easy to reach, though I didn't want to leave.
