Fish Eagle Lodge

The lodge made a great base for the Knysna Marathon and Oyster Festival. My friends and I had a really enjoyable stay thanks to the hosts, who were so friendly and helpful. It’s comfortable, in a handy spot, and we’d absolutely recommend it.

We were the only guests during our three nights, probably because it was low season, but breakfast was still generous and freshly made for the two of us. There was fruit, cold cuts, eggs cooked as we wanted, plus coffee and tea. Our room had a fireplace, which was especially welcome in the chilly early spring weather, while some other rooms have electric heating. The rooms are clean, nicely furnished, and well cared for. Add lovely views and a beautiful lodge, and we were completely happy with our stay. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Knysna.

The hosts were awesome, friendly and very efficient, and the breakfast in the breakfast room was really good. Unit 6 is small, but the view over the Lagoon is amazing. Just be aware that the bathroom is several steps down a steep staircase. Knysna is lovely, though unfortunately my partner wasn’t at their best and that spoiled the holiday for me. We leave tomorrow, but I’d definitely recommend this beautiful place ❤

Lee and Stefan were wonderfully welcoming, and their hospitality and tips were much appreciated. Falcon crest has a great view, plenty of space, and a little separate lounge beside the terrace for when it’s too cold to sit outside. Breakfast was very good too. The lodge is outside Knysna, so you’ll need a car for most things, and the N2 can be heard at night, though it isn’t very loud. We’ll come back next time we’re in Knysna:-)
