The staff were incredibly friendly, and the restaurant meal was the best we had in South Africa. The chef is amazing. We stayed in a large cabin with a living room and big bathroom, and although it was cold, the heated beds and floors kept us comfortable. There are monkeys around, too. I highly recommend staying two nights to enjoy the pool with its amazing views and the nature trails.

Getting to the restaurant is part of the fun. You leave your car at the main gate, then a driver takes you up to the treetops for drinks, appetizers and an amazing view. After that, you walk to the restaurant for good food, wine and service. Your waiter walks you back through the forest to meet your driver. A really cool experience to try when you’re in Knysna.

One night wasn’t nearly enough. It was so peaceful and beautiful, high in the treetops above Knysna, with incredible tree houses to stay in. The staff were wonderful, the views lovely, and the six-course dinner fantastic. Breakfast was great, too. We watched two shy Knysna Loeries on the railing beside us. It’s also one of the top eco reserves.

A fully immersive place, and the restaurant’s tasty six-course menu is well worth it. There are two pools and plenty of tucked-away spots to relax and take in the views. We woke to monkeys and Knysna birds. Best place I’ve ever been.

The setting is wonderfully quiet, tucked among the trees high on the hill, and the view is fantastic. We were looked after, then left to unwind in peace. The food was superb, and the place has a lovely rustic character that feels different in a good way. Recommended.
