Steven welcomed our group warmly and gave us a gate remote, so we could come and go freely during our stay. The place itself was beautiful. On the second day and night, though, we had to deal with a woman whose people skills were seriously lacking. With all 8 rooms occupied, two staff members aren't enough to provide the service. In my experience with BnBs, owners usually come to greet guests, but we didn't get to meet them here.

I was there with my siblings, and the place was amazing and clean. The male receptionist was welcoming, and the son-in-law (or son) and his friends were there the same weekend and went out of their way to keep us comfortable. The lady working that weekend, though, was horrible: unpleasant, unhelpful, and wouldn't let us use the facilities. She made the whole experience awful. Everything else was amazing, so without her I would have rated it 5.

The positive reviews have it right: the location is great, the rooms are pleasant and clean, and the accommodation looks like the photos. The staff really make the place, too. I asked for a breakfast pack, but they served me breakfast at 06:30 instead. 🙂

The service fell short in every area. First, the TV remotes didn't work, and the room air conditioners were faulty in the height of summer. They were also unprepared for loadshedding. The vehicle gates failed before and after it, then were left open, giving anyone on the road access to the rooms. There was a real lack of security. I wouldn't recommend this establishment for families.

A lovely guest house with plenty of space. The room has its own outdoor smoking area, and I'd definitely return when visiting Knysna.
