We booked through Booking.com on the way from Hluhluwe to the Western Cape, relying on the positive reviews, but the area felt so dodgy that we turned around and left even though we’d already paid for the nonrefundable booking. Two other groups had also booked and paid to stay at Majestic, then left because they felt it was too dodgy. We were fortunate to find another lovely guesthouse. I wouldn’t trust the positive reviews or book here.

The breakfast was absolutely divine, and every corner of this Kokstad BnB was spotless. The bed was so comfortable I could barely wake up the next morning. Catherine, you made us feel right at home and were an awesome host, the best we could ask for. Thanks so much for accommodating us. If we’re in the area again, we’d definitely stay with you.

We’d heard we shouldn’t stay in Kokstad, but those worries disappeared once we got there. My husband and I just needed somewhere to sleep on the way to East London, and the room was spotless with everything we might need. We felt welcome, and our vehicle was perfectly safe. It was a comfortable, secure night.

The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful. You arrive as a guest and leave feeling like a friend or part of the family. The place was spotless and very comfortable. Our only regret is having just 1 night here on the way to the Transkei. 10 out of 10, highly recommended.

The host and staff are always ready to help with whatever you need, and the customer service is consistently great. Everything is clean and neat. You truly arrive as a guest and leave as a friend, if not family.
