The food was amazing, and the location beside the river is special, especially when elephants come down to drink. We went on two game drives a day, then had time to rest by the pool between them. The vehicles were comfortable enough. The staff were lovely with our kids. Anja and Sorta knew where to look for animals and enjoyed sharing details about them. We brought our 3-and-a-half-year-old, though I wouldn't recommend this stay for a child that young.

The staff made our honeymoon and my husband's birthday feel so personal. They baked him a cake and sang a beautiful song, which brought us both to tears. Everyone we met was warm, welcoming, and attentive. We also loved meeting other guests over dinner. I'm quite introverted, so I wouldn't have chosen a setup that encouraged mingling, but it led us to some lovely people I hope we'll stay in touch with. We picked Rhino Post Safari Lodge because we wanted comfort and a bit of luxury while still feeling immersed in the bush. The rooms and lodge had thoughtful details that made that balance work, and the location was beautiful. The food was incredible, too. Sorta and James were our game drive guides, and Greg took us on private birding drives. All three were funny, passionate, respectful of nature, and very knowledgeable. They adapted well to different guests, and I wish we'd had more time with them. My only regrets are not staying longer and not making time for Plains Camp, where we could have explored on foot. That's top of our list for next time.

Staying here means remaining inside Kruger overnight, and that makes the early morning safaris especially good. The setting also lets the lodge blend naturally into Kruger National Park. Leon was a terrific guide. His insights made this a very special holiday, and the whole Rhino Post team were welcoming, helpful, and looked after us well. The rooms show their age, so some renovation would be needed if you're expecting luxury. Given the location, I'd call them country-style upscale. Food and drinks were great. We had a three-course dinner every night, and it was good each time. If you're vegan or vegetarian, just let them know. We had a Big Five experience and would give the lodge five stars. Thanks to everyone at Rhino Post Safari Lodge!

I was given two nights at Rhino Post Safari Lodge as a surprise for my 60th birthday, and it felt made for a special occasion. The view across the dry riverbed is amazing. Our room was lovely, with very creaky floors, an outdoor shower, and a huge tub by the window where you can sit and take in the view. Anne welcomed us with iced tea at the bar, then someone took our luggage and showed us to the room. The days had a nice rhythm: a game drive from 06h00 until about 10h00 or 10h30, then breakfast and time on the room veranda or socializing in the lounge and pub. High tea and a cold drink came at 15h30 before the 16h00 drive. Supper was served at 20h00, with three courses. Lovemore cooked delicious food, and our guide, Sorta, was wonderful and patient with all our questions.

What a great time! James was especially good as our guide, and there were lots of other lovely crew members too. The food was extraordinary. I'd definitely book again.
