Sea De La Vie

The quiet stretch of beach by the Sea La Vie apartments in Umhlanga, Durban, is the main draw. It feels peaceful and away from the city noise and tourist crowds, with gentle waves, open space for walks, sunbathing, and uninterrupted sea views. For locals wanting a calm coastal escape, it’s a lovely spot. You do need to come prepared. There are no lifeguards, public toilets, or kiosks, so bring your own refreshments and gear. The security at the neighbouring apartment complex benefits residents, but getting onto this stretch of beach can feel restricted or less straightforward if you don’t live there. It’s a natural, undeveloped beach with few public facilities, and better suited to people who value the quiet and don’t mind planning ahead.
