Green Lantern Inn

The food was delicious, and the waffles were the best ever. The staff were the friendliest we've ever met. There's also the Inn's history to read about, and the famous donkey Miss Bo Jangels came to visit us in the pub. 100% the best place we've ever stayed.

The gardens look pretty, but they hide a decaying old building. We booked two nights and left after one. In Room 17, there was a strong smell of mould and dirt, the ceiling was coming down, and the shower was rusting with a stained bath. The coffee station outlet didn't work, while another plug was overloaded. There were cobwebs on the lampshade and the bedlinen was unironed. This room would not pass an electrical C.O.C. The pub was covered with business cards, bras, panties and men's underwear, like a brothel. This place was a real dump and a huge disappointment. Sadly, the owner seems to have lost the plot when it comes to ambience and good taste.

A colleague and I stayed here overnight while traveling for work, and this quirky, quaint spot turned into an unexpected experience we'll remember. Between the history, beautiful buildings and interesting people, there's a lot of character here. The rooms have plenty of tradition but are still neat and tidy. We enjoyed the restaurant and pub too. The food was simple, honest and tasty, with very reasonable prices. The atmosphere will stay with us for a lifetime.

We stopped here for two nights on our way to and from KZN. The gardens were immaculate, the accommodation very comfortable, and the staff friendly. The pub had a great atmosphere and the food was great too. Our dog enjoyed his stay as well. Worth a visit.
