Croeso Guest House

Croeso Guest House is in a quiet, convenient spot. We didn't hear any mosquitos, which was nice. The ceiling fan didn't move enough air to reach my toddler daughter's bed, but the owner promptly arranged a standing fan when I asked. We also asked for lighter duvets, and those were changed. A few things could be clearer or improved. We found the housekeeping policy confusing: cleaning is every second day, but we assumed the beds would be made daily, and they weren't. The same went for the dishes. It might help to explain the policy more clearly or make it more consistent. Some coordination on cleaning times would also help. One day we'd been out all morning and returned after lunch; while my daughter was napping, the housekeeper knocked because she'd forgotten to take the bin trash. That could perhaps have been handled in the morning. The kitchen sink made very loud noises when other guests used water, which scared us the first time, at 23:00. The plumbing needs attention. There was no shade in the private outdoor area, so when the sun was very hot we had to give up using it and stay inside on a couple of occasions. We also once saw a gardener come through the little gate from the communal garden into the room's backyard without warning. Guests could be told in advance, in case they're planning to be outside. There are no drying lines in the backyard, which made it harder to dry swimwear and towels. I assumed when booking that parking was behind a gate, but it was outside. That's fine: there were shade tents, and the area seemed very safe. These aren't complaints, just points that might help the management make the place better and reach its full potential.

My wife had to stay alone in an apartment for a whole week, and it would have been helpful to know beforehand that there was no management on site. She came home from work one day to find the door left open and unlocked by the housekeeper. She felt unsafe, and there was nobody to go in with her and make sure there wasn't an intruder or other danger inside. When she reported the unlocked door, the response was very nonchalant, with no apology for the inconvenience.

A great overnight stay in Langebaan. It was clean and had all the amenities, and my guests were happy too.

My wife and I had a great stay at this quiet, intimate spot in the west coast/Langebaan. We wanted some quality time together, and it was just right. The stay itself is an experience worth trying. Everything from booking through to the end of our lovely weekend went smoothly. I would have liked to thank someone in person for having us, but in this tech era, face-to-face contact can be tricky when you're used to signing in at a counter with a person. Thanks.
