The hotel itself has charm, with a lovely view across the bay. Breakfast was good, and the staff were very friendly. Our “romantic” hot tub room, though, didn’t match what we expected from the website photos. It felt shabby, especially the bathroom, which was in poor shape and had a tiny sink with no obvious effort to make it presentable. The ventilation was so loud it sounded like an underground tunnel, and there was a smell from what seemed to be poorly working drainage.

The nearby beach is lovely for kite surfers, though it’s very shallow and not suitable for swimming. There’s a nice cafe there too. The hotel has plenty of charm, with its long history, great restaurant and views.

Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean and well equipped, and the restaurant food was delicious. The staff were so lovely. The hotel has loads of character, beautiful views, and guest parking right outside the front door. Thoroughly recommended.

We’ll definitely come back. Our upstairs room looked out over the lagoon, and the peaceful hotel was a lovely place to spend the weekend. The 4pm tea and scones are a real treat. It has old-world charm and is beautifully kept. Breakfast was made to order, delicious and excellent quality, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

I only wish I’d stayed more than one night. Michelle made check-in easy and welcoming, the restaurant staff were excellent, and the food was top quality. Even the cat adopted us and cuddled up with us overnight. All round, a great experience, and I’ll definitely return.
