Stone Hill

Our doggos had a lovely weekend at Stone hill. The cottage was comfortable and well equipped, with amazing views, clean rooms, and a private fenced area where we could relax. Stone hill also has optional extras for convenience. The hosts were welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was delicious, so I’d recommend it if you’re visiting over a weekend. We also enjoyed the well maintained, clearly marked dog walking trail, plus a shorter path down to a stream. We’ll definitely be back.

The walking trails were peaceful and well kept, with plenty of room to explore and unwind among the beautiful nature. They worked just as well on four legs as on two, and were a highlight for us. Stone Hill makes a lovely escape from everyday life, especially with pets. From the moment we arrived, we felt at ease. The staff were warm and attentive, and clearly care about what they do. Our cottage had a farm style feel, balancing comfort with an authentic, homely touch. Everything had been considered, and it felt both luxurious and welcoming. Thank you to Caroline and Mark for making it such a welcoming sanctuary. We left relaxed and refreshed, already thinking about coming back. I’d recommend it to animal lovers, especially since pets are genuinely welcomed.

We spent December 2025 at Stone Hill Self catering cottages with my husband and our four dogs, and had a wonderful stay. The cottage was clean and had everything we could need. Mark and Caroline were welcoming and ready to help. The road in was good, and a normal vehicle can manage the drive. The cleaning staff did a great job, and in the heat we enjoyed the splash pool. I’d happily recommend the facilities.

Our hosts, Caroline and Mark, went out of their way to make our stay special. We stayed in the Paperbark unit and will definitely return. It’s very spacious and has all the luxuries you could ask for. The huge garden was a hit with the dogs, and having a private pool was a bonus. Breakfast by the communal pool was delicious, and gave us a chance to meet the other guests and their furry children. We also walked along the river with the fur babies, who had a great time in the mud. Thank goodness there was an outdoor shower!
