A well-maintained building in a secure complex, right next to pumphouse and Chippie Diner. The garden has braai and pool facilities with a sea view, and you can walk down to spar or the beach.

We had a terrible stay. After we’d paid so much to spend the weekend, the owner called us “Black business” and said she doesn’t deal with “Black business.” We were treated like trash and shouted at as if we were children. Nobody told us when booking that they wouldn’t accommodate Black people.

The door wouldn’t close, so I had to use a shoot. The couch cushions were dirty, with red and black spots, and there was a broken table with burn marks. We were later accused of damaging items, but I’d filmed everything in the room when we arrived. We didn’t even have matches, as we’re non-smokers. I’d been told in the first email that checkout was between 10 and 11. While we were having breakfast, before 9, the hostess came into the room to tell us to leave. The hospitality was poor and they weren’t accommodating at all.

We were treated badly and weren’t even allowed to enjoy ourselves. They complained that we were making noise, yet we’d gone there to have a good time. At checkout, they said we had broken things. The older woman who was the caretaker called us names and said we were a “black market” and that the agent would deal with us.
