Peace Cottages

The room and bed were clean and comfortable, and the beach was only a five minute walk away. It was peaceful and quiet, and the owners were really friendly. Thanks for the hospitality. I'll definitely book again. 10/10.

The host was great, and the apartment was clean inside. Outside was muddy, the parking and grass were poorly managed, and there was dirty green swamp water below. I also found roaches in the cupboard. You have to pay for your own electricity to use the aircon. It didn't look like the photos, and I won't book here again.

The owners were very friendly, and the rooms were lovely. There's a nice walk to the lagoon and beach, with rock angling even closer by. Lots of activities and facilities are nearby, like shark diving, remote control cars, hobbies, a pool, or just somewhere to relax. Best to come with a group and book the whole place.

We were told there'd be load shedding but no water shedding because the property had its own water supply. We assumed that meant borehole water. When we asked for the load shedding schedule after arriving, we then learned that both water and power go off at the same times because the pumps for the Jojo tanks don't work during load shedding. That was 2½ hours each time, which we hadn't expected, especially with children. There was no water or electricity Saturday from 5pm to 7.30pm, twice on Sunday for a total of 5 hours, and Monday from 7am to 9.30am, exactly checkout time. It was very unhygienic with the toilets. They did let us extend checkout to 11am when we asked. More portable lights indoors would help during load shedding. The pots and pans were in terrible shape and felt poisonous to cook with. Luckily I'd brought a pot, but cooking and transferring the food into glass bowls was a battle. For a weekend self catering cottage, I'd never before had just one toilet roll per toilet, no dishcloths or bath towels, and only 20 ml of Sunlight washing powder, with no extras. The ensuite toilets were open with no doors or privacy, and one faced the bed. With no flushing during load shedding, it affected the open plan rooms so badly that we couldn't go into them. The children's play pen was filthy, though some warm water and Sunlight soap would clean it up. There was standing water in the parking area too. Very disappointing, and we won't stay here again.
