Ramsgate Guest House

I had an R8000 credit with them after a holiday was postponed. At first I was told I could rebook whenever suited me, but now they say it’s been too long and I can’t use the credit, even though they never set out a time limit. The service was awful, and getting a response took far too long. I really don’t recommend them.

The rooms are decent and all face the sea. It’s a good setting, though not right on the beach, and housekeeping comes every day. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff service was just as good.

After two stays, I can say I’ve had a great time there both times. The Guest House feels tidy and clean, and its beachy décor suits the setting so well. It’s just the place to switch off and relax. I love it!

The setting, views, and décor were lovely, but the small details let the stay down. The aircon didn’t work properly, the fan was noisy, there was no soap in the dispenser, and I struggled with the curtains. A patio light shone straight at our main bedroom window, and I couldn’t turn it off. At breakfast, we couldn’t get into the room at 07:45 because it wasn’t open. The food wasn’t ready on time, nobody seemed to be overseeing the preparation, no tea or coffee was offered, and the bacon was cold. Nobody asked us for feedback after the stay either.
