The deck and its view are stunning, but the rest of our stay was a real disappointment. The house and rooms are tiny, especially upstairs, and the photos make them look bigger than they are. The wooden floors carry every sound, so you can hear conversations and noise throughout the house. The bedding and linen were poor quality, too. We only learned when we arrived that there was a construction site next door, with a generator running all day. This didn't match what we expected for a family break, and I wouldn't recommend it. It doesn't come close to what I'd call a four-star lodge or hotel.

The animals that came by were incredible. I'm from London, so seeing so much wildlife up close completely blew me away. A bush baby and lots of birds even visited the platform. The elevated deck was the highlight. It has wonderful views and feels like a living room, with a sofa where you can curl up under a duvet and look at the stars while hearing the African bush around you. The height meant I didn't have to worry about an animal disturbing me while I relaxed. The house itself had the authentic feel of a cabin and everything needed for a comfortable stay. It was exactly what I hoped for, a peaceful, unusual experience, and I highly recommend it.

The deck has a gorgeous lookout, but the photos on the advertising sites are deceptive. Inside, the place was very dirty, poorly furnished, and the curtains were barely there. There were no cupboards or mirrors, and the bedding and linen were very poor. The wooden floors were so noisy that sleeping was impossible.

Marloth Park is a lovely place to recharge, and I'd happily come back. The balcony is the main reason to stay here: its view is a real gem, and I barely spent time inside. Sit back and relax out there. I recommend it.

We had a lovely stay, and the management made things as hassle-free as possible when a few things went wrong. Load shedding damaged the network, so on our last morning, before we headed home, they offered us another place to have coffee and take a warm shower. Luckily the power came back and we didn't need to use it, but they could have simply said sorry and left it there. That was customer service at its best. Thank you for a great stay.
