The rooms are large and comfortable, and the splash pool and braai were great. We only saw a few animals, and there were some problems with the gas and hot water. There were only two settees, too. It’s a lovely place overall, with a helpful manager/owner and friendly staff, but it felt a bit close to another lodge. I hope future lodges aren’t built so near each other.

There’s a lovely little pool, and the facilities cover nearly everything you need. We enjoyed our off-peak stay and just went with the flow. It’s a cheap-and-cheerful option, and the location and decor reflect the low price. One thing to know: the two houses are only about a metre apart. That could get awkward and noisy if separate groups book them, especially if one group has kids, though it works well for a big group renting both. Bring your own ice tray, since they remove the trays and seem to want guests to buy bags of ice. 😅

The rooms were clean, each with its own ensuite, and the host was awesome. We took my father-in-law for his birthday weekend and had a great time. It was as quiet as we like, with free-roaming game around the property all day: kudu, nyala, warthog, bushbabies, blue wildebeast, and mongooses. Just loved the place.

The owner was helpful and friendly, and the person who cleaned the braai area and pool was efficient and pleasant. The lodge itself was tidy, with roomy bedrooms and one of the best-equipped kitchens I’ve come across, with more than enough utensils. It would be nice to have the place serviced during a stay.
