After landing at Kruger Mpumalanga airport following a long journey, this is a nice place to refresh before heading to a safari lodge. We stayed here for our first night in South Africa. It’s a peaceful property on a hill overlooking the city, with a restaurant on site offering great service, wine and menu choices. Breakfast was included, served on a lovely outdoor patio overlooking the pool.

The rooms are beautiful and the place looks amazing. That’s the only reason I’m giving it even one star. My friend and I sat there for over 20 minutes without anyone acknowledging us, while white guests who arrived later were greeted and served right at the door. We had to stand up and ask for help ourselves. It felt like we were being profiled and ignored. That’s insulting.

I’ve stayed at Loeries or Francolin Lodge for years, and both are on the same property with one shared reception. The staff are amazing, and breakfast is great. The location on top of a hill gives you an amazing view. There’s also a pool and safe, secure parking on site.

Waking up to the mountain view from our balcony was great. This place in Nelspruit felt like a hidden paradise above the city, tucked up high on a mountaintop. Breakfast was delicious, and the service was impeccable and very professional. We’ll be back!

The room cleanliness left a lot to be desired. There were strands of hair on the carpets, and the ottoman looked as if it hadn’t been washed in a long time. The shower was worse, with mould and brown marks in the bottom corners and on the door frames. It really disturbed me. I was in room 8 and took a video of the shower condition. The place itself is beautiful, and the staff are friendly and attentive.
