After nine hours of driving, we were exhausted and ready to stop. We’d come down from Pretoria toward Knysna with the kids, hoping to get as far as we could, so we chose this guest house @ Montarie. The excellent reviews and small number of rooms made it seem easier to manage, and it turned out to be a great choice. We were all asleep by 20:30 after a quick shower. The beds were clean and comfortable, which made it easy to nod off. We loved the huge garden where the kids could explore and kick a ball, and it’s definitely child friendly. The welcome was so warm and friendly. It felt like a safe, clean, comfortable place to stop, and we’ll definitely recommend it to other travellers. If I take this route again, I’ll be back! 😁🙏🏼

I’ve stayed in a lot of guest houses and B&Bs over the years, and nothing quite matches the value I got from my stay at Montarie. Five stars all round. Great hospitality and friendliness, and the rooms are well kept.

Marie makes you feel at home from the moment you arrive until you leave. She’s friendly and goes out of her way for her guests, a perfect hostess. The room was modern and clean. I’d recommend this 5star accommodation to everyone.

We arrived at 1:00 am after a 7 hour drive, and Mareie the hostess met us with a warm welcome. The room was beautiful and the beds were great, a real relief after the drive. I woke up refreshed and ready for the next leg of the trip. It’s a quiet, peaceful place, with birds calling and chirping. I’d recommend it as a lovely stopover for travellers. Thank you, Marie. We’ll visit again on our next trip to Mosselbay.
