Villa Via - Midrand

The staff were the best part of our stay. The two men at reception during check-in were amazing, the morning receptionist was sweet and welcoming, and the caretaker was kind to our dog. We also really appreciated that the place allows pets, since we were travelling with our dog. The room and property need serious attention, though, especially for the price per night. Our towels were dirty, the adaptor we asked for was filthy, there was a heap of unnecessary waste right outside the window, and ants were all over the room. For a place advertised as a 3-star hotel, the standards fell well short. We had no complimentary water bottles and were thirsty throughout the night and day. The tap was designed in a way that made filling the kettle nearly impossible, and there were only a couple of tiny coffee sachets. We expected much better for what we paid. With better upkeep and attention to detail, this place could be great, especially with such a lovely team.

I believe this is the filthiest place I've ever slept. EVERYTHING was so dirty! The prices are completely unjustified. The cleaners should actually do their jobs instead of being cheeky to guests.

We were welcomed on our first day, and the room was very clean. We slept well and enjoyed swimming in the pool. The only issue was guests talking loudly as they passed their rooms. That's not the hotel's fault, though it didn't get quiet until after 11pm. Our chef really went out of his way to make us feel welcome, and dinner and breakfast were delicious. 10 stars for that.
