The staff were a big part of what made our return visit so memorable. Everyone was warm and smiling, remembered our names, and was happy to help with things like restaurant tips and setting up breakfast almost on the beach. The lodge itself is lovely, with comfortable rooms, private open spaces and gorgeous ocean views. We were just steps from the sand, and could hear the waves when we woke up. There’s a jacuzzi on the deck about a metre from the beach. Restaurants and shopping malls are close by, so it was easy to get out when we wanted to. We’ve now stayed at this beachfront lodge twice, and would happily return for another quiet beach break with such welcoming service.

The sunrise over the ocean was beautiful, and breakfast felt warm and homey, almost like my grandmother had made it. Our stay was peaceful and comfortable, and the room seemed to have every amenity you could need. Parking was secure and security was strong, though guests have quite a few keys to keep track of. We were only there for one night as a stop on a long drive. While we were out at dinner, it seemed the receptionist had gone into our room and left extra bottles of water beside the bed, even though some had already been provided. I wondered if she was checking why we had so much luggage for just one night. No one offered to help with our bags, which was hard with all the stairs and the weight of them.

The food at breakfast was freshly cooked and really good, and Joy was a great help with arranging spa bookings and activities for my family. We also enjoyed the resort, the view and the service. Highly recommend!

That beach right outside African Oceans Manor was the best part for me. We watched the sun come up over Mossel Bay, which felt magical and left us refreshed. We arrived late in the evening and were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to lovely, comfortable rooms because it was the off-season. One had an outdoor jacuzzi, though the winter chill meant we couldn't really enjoy it. Our host was so friendly and accommodating, and breakfast was delicious. The property had such a peaceful feel. I only wish we'd had longer to relax there.
