Misty Morn Cottages

Everyone I met was warm, friendly and welcoming, and the rooms were spotless. Each one has its own theme, with so much care put into the details. It made for a really relaxing stay. I’d recommend it if you want a quiet break. The location is handy too, with most tourist attractions just a short distance away.

The place itself was great, but the service was awful and the whole issue spoiled our wedding and stay. We waited more than 20 minutes for help when we arrived. While we were unpacking, the house lady told us our room was only for two adults, even though we had paid on bookings.com for three. She kept insisting we pay an extra fee. We eventually spoke to a manager or owner, I’m not sure which, explained the situation, and paid R1800, which made sense to us since the two sleepers cost R1400. We asked Julia if visitors were allowed and she said yes. Then she said she’d charge us 250 Rand’s per person if anyone else stayed, and told us not to tell the manager because she would charge 500 per person. My wife and I started to feel she was trying to make money from us. We left our bags and went to our wedding. Later, the manager messaged my wife saying we owed another R300. I refused and asked to sort it out after the wedding because we were busy. She kept texting us about how unfair we were being as clients while we were at the wedding. We were shocked by how she handled it, and she called my wife a “disturbed person” because we gave a fair review. We will have this matter attended to. Her customer service was pathetic and rude.

Helena was a splendid host, always ready to do a little extra for guests. Misty Morn’s cottages would make a lovely base for exploring the many things to do nearby, and the quiet gardens and pool come with a gorgeous view. I’d highly recommend them for family stays. The cottages are simple but spacious, with plenty of character. Ours was super clean on arrival and had thoughtful basics ready, including milk, filter coffee and rusks.

We needed somewhere to unwind after a hard week at work, and Misty Morn was just right. The peaceful setting and beautiful cottage view made us wish we could stay longer. Even in the cold winter, there was plenty of wood for the fireplace to keep us comfortable. The owner was so nice and made us feel welcome. We’ll definitely come back soon.
