Matoppi Guest House

We had enjoyed our November 2018 stay at Matoppi Lodge enough to recommend it to friends, so we booked two nights for April 26 and 27, 2019, and asked for the room we’d had before. Instead, we were given a room we found too small. The manager said a room change would need the owner’s approval. She had also told us my wife and I were the only guests for the weekend, so I phoned the owner the next morning to ask about switching rooms. She refused, spoke to me in what I felt was an arrogant way, and told us to leave and book elsewhere. We did. She asked us to return at 3 pm for a refund for the remaining night, since we’d paid for two. When we went to the lodge at 4:15 pm on April 27, she told us off and refused to repay us. We were surprised by her decision. We’ll leave the response to your imagination.
