Goldfields Lodge and Conference Centre

The room had delightful air conditioning, and the whole stay felt quiet and relaxing, even though the place was fully booked. I booked on WhatsApp and found the room ready when I arrived shortly after 2 pm for Sunday check-in. Reception was pleasant, and there was plenty of free, secure overnight parking. A shopping centre nearby was convenient. I’d recommend staying here.

Nadia made me feel at home, and it was clear the owners value their guests. The place is attractive inside and out, secure, and the rooms and bathrooms were very clean. After I misplaced my room keys and remote, they let me go to my meeting. I later found the keys in my boot and returned them to the establishment after checking out. Thanks, Nadia, for being such a great host. I recommend this lovely place to anyone needing accommodation in Nigel.

The food was awesome, and there are shops nearby. Rooms are neat and comfortable, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Goldfields Lodge made for a really nice stay. Thanks for the hospitality, everyone. I’d recommend it to people visiting Nigel and the surrounding area.

The room was beautiful and clean, with air conditioning, a TV, kitchen, kettle, fridge, dining table, couch and Wi-Fi. At R900, it seemed like a bargain. The receptionist was friendly and helpful, and I could see a lot of effort had gone into making the lodge comfortable. I still gave it five stars because the noise may not have been the lodge’s fault, but I loved the place until that night. At 8 pm, a woman started screaming and kept going through the evening. I wondered why staff didn’t ask her to quiet down, though perhaps they’d already clocked off. Then at midnight, just after I’d finally fallen asleep, a group of men came into the hallway and were unbelievably loud. I don’t know if they were restaurant kitchen staff or who they were, but they need to learn some etiquette. I found it seriously disappointing, and I won’t be coming back. I really hope the lodge wasn’t responsible, but I’m not sure they know how loud these “conferences” get. Now that I know it’s a conference centre, I won’t stay there. If you do book, complain to staff when inconsiderate guests are noisy, because it may not stop unless someone confronts them. The lodge could also put up signs asking people to be quiet and considerate of other guests.
