The quiet at Su Casa was the part I enjoyed, though the stay came with a lot of frustration. I was visiting Pietermaritzburg for business and wanted quick, comfortable accommodation on a budget. I found a relatively cheap room on Agoda that seemed to have the basics, WiFi, a TV and a decent looking shower. I arrived around 16:30 and a lovely housekeeper let me in. Then I was told I'd booked a dorm room for multiple people, which I didn't mind, but I couldn't use it because a woman was already in the room. The B&B didn't sort out another room for me, so I had to pay extra, even though the original booking money wasn't refundable. Once in the replacement room, I found there was no TV remote and the TV was positioned so I couldn't watch it properly. There was no shower gel or shampoo either. The peaceful setting was nice, but it felt like the owner cared more about making money than providing basic things or showing empathy when the business had caused a problem. 4/10 from me.

The staff were excellent, but the property needs some attention. The garden needs work, and the WiFi is poor. There's no generator during power cuts, which means there's no water for bathing or showering. Fixing these things would help a lot.

The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, and there's a pool with a nice view. It felt peaceful and relaxing. The welcome was warm too, with staff greeting us with smiles and making us feel at home.

I had a mix-up at the Chasevalley branch because it was fully booked. Victor arranged to transfer me to the Scottvile branch, where they welcomed me with smiles. They even extended my checkout time because of the miscommunication. Sure Case is a great place, and I'm looking forward to visiting again.
