Room with a View

The guesthouse is such a calm, comfortable place to unwind, and you can tell a lot of care and attention to detail go into running it. Alison makes you feel welcome. The accommodation was very clean, spacious, and cosy, and the location is handy for everything you need on holiday. That view is absolutely to die for!

Beautiful views and a truly charming host made for a lovely stay.

We came back in Feb 2024, and Google wouldn’t let me add a review for the new date, only edit my old one. Here goes. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: this is still our favourite place to stay. It feels like a little bit of heaven on earth. We’ve been here so many times over the years we’ve lost count, and we always wish we could stay longer. The Tower is delightful, furnished with tasteful fine antiques and set against a breathtaking panoramic view. The blue lagoon and seascapes keep changing, with distant mountains, spectacular sunrises, and sunsets. It’s at an elevated level, but access is level with the road, so there are no stairs to manage. Secure parking is provided. The location is excellent, close to the beach, shops, plenty of restaurants, and the High Street. Alison is a gracious host, and her impeccable taste shows throughout this immaculate property and its extensive, beautiful rose-filled garden.

A mosquito repellent is a good idea here, as it is anywhere in those climes. Otherwise, it was a superb experience: very charming, with pleasant staff, nice decor, a great view, and good breakfast. Everything was very clean, and I’ll definitely come back if I’m in plettenberg again!
