For what I paid, the poor breakfast felt like money down the drain. I booked an executive suite and was disappointed to find it had no air conditioning. The whole lodge badly needs maintenance and upgrading.

We slept comfortably and had great service in the superior room, which came with a lovely view. There was a faint animal smell in the room, though, and it could use a deep clean.

It was a relaxed place to stay in a fantastic location. The hospitality was some of the best we've had, and nothing seemed like too much trouble for them.

Breakfast was the standout: beautifully presented, with a marvelous ocean view from the deck. The rooms could use some improvement, though. They had a dull smell, and when we arrived everything was closed up with the lights off. The TV didn’t work, and streaming channels through the internet box was difficult and frustrating. Service needs work too, as they weren’t ready to serve us and we had to eat in our rooms. The steak and chips at dinner weren’t good, so I sent them back. The Malva pudding was cold, and I’d have enjoyed it with hot custard. The place is in a good area, and the balcony views are gorgeous. I’d rate the establishment 3 out of 5.

The staff were kind and helped carry our bags to the room while I was on crutches. We stayed for a long weekend, and it was a good experience from beginning to end. The food was up to standard and we enjoyed it, and the rooms were clean with amazing views.
