Several of the outdoor lights weren’t working, so the service side of things could use a little attention.

The rooms looked lovely, but they were very dusty. On my first trip to Pongola, I stayed here for two nights and came away really disappointed. On Friday, our last night, a car played loud music until early morning. The receptionist was with that group, and people were making a lot of noise in the corridors. We had to travel the next morning and got no sleep. Earlier, the receptionist was rarely around when we needed help, and once came to see me with her clothes only half buttoned, which felt unprofessional. The cleaner also opened my door and came in without knocking.

I’ve stayed at five places in Pongola, and Aber Jetz is the best of them. The owners are great, it’s peaceful, and I’ve never had a bad meal here. If you have special dietary needs, call ahead because they’re happy to accommodate you. Ask for a lunch pack too, those are great. Well done, Regina.

The breakfast was delicious, and the pool was spotless and a beautiful blue. It’s a lovely little guest house, with beautiful rooms and really friendly, helpful staff. I’d recommend staying here if you’re nearby or just passing through. :)
