Villa Majestic for Exclusive Accommodation

The host was lovely, and breakfast was a nice extra. I had a very relaxing stay at Villa Majestic.

The place is neat, clean and spacious, but the damp, mouldy smell through the house was awful, like it hadn't been aired for months. A strong dog odour came from the stoep area outside the bedroom windows, with dog poo and pee there too. The old-fashioned furnishings, lighting and finishes make the house feel dark and depressing, and everything had a sticky layer that needs a proper spring clean to clear the humidity buildup. Even the tea bags were stale. It generally felt icky and unfresh. A deep clean and refresh could make the place wonderful.

The breakfasts were excellent, with a lovely range served at the table, and the host put special effort into the menu. On the second day I asked for a banting course, and it was presented so beautifully I took a photo. The room was spacious, with a huge bathroom and a great big bath, and everything was clean as a pin. Our gracious host welcomed us and chatted while still respecting our privacy. It was quiet, I slept well, and I have no complaints.

We had to find somewhere at the last minute after a mixup with a booking elsewhere, and I'm so glad we found this gem. The owner was friendly and made the place feel like home. Once our accommodation was sorted, it was a relief, and she made sure we felt welcome and comfortable. I'd definitely return if I'm in the area again.
