The owner's collection gives the lodge a lot of character, with her paintings, pottery, and home goods. She was kind and accommodating, and her warm smile made each interaction feel welcoming. The cleaner was lovely and helpful too. Add the beautiful architecture, which balances comfort and elegance, and the breathtaking view, and it made for an unforgettable stay. Highly recommend.

The views were incredible, but our stay had several problems. There were leaking taps and a lot of dirt around, and a party on a neighboring property carried on all night. We left before sunrise, and it seemed some other guests had gone even earlier. The parking area is completely open, so we were concerned about the vehicle. The driveway was tricky, and a high-clearance car would be advisable. It was some time ago, and I can only speak to what we experienced. It may be more enjoyable when things are quieter.

Delicious Monster was a hidden gem for me. I spent three weeks there and loved every minute. The subtropical setting felt like an exotic island, with amazing plant life and lots of birds, many of them unique to the area. The host was lovely and made me feel especially comfortable. People have different preferences, so negative reviews are bound to happen, but there aren't many places like this.

The accommodation is quiet and secluded, with a beautiful view, and the host was nice. Still, I'd set expectations lower than the photos on the website suggest. The property is north of Second Beach, farther beyond town than I expected. Nearby drinking spots make the beach unpleasant to drive past if you're after a calm family outing. Our family room had a thatched ceiling and high stairs, which my three-year-old found exciting but also felt a little unsafe.
