The shared indoor and outdoor areas are comfortable and pleasant, and my room had a nice view of the garden. Staff were welcoming and kept things running smoothly. Breakfast was tasty and wholesome, with a good range to choose from.

The rooms are on the small side, but they're very tidy. There's a communal kitchen and two well-equipped braai areas, which help make up for the size. My room also had a furnished patio for self-catering. Breakfast was good, and the accommodation works really well for business travellers. I do think the receptionist who welcomed us on the first day could have been friendlier, though the rest of the staff were great. This is the kind of standard other places should aim for, especially if they call themselves self-catering.

I've stayed at different B&Bs every week while travelling, and this has been my best stay yet. We got a really warm welcome and a friendly smile as soon as we arrived. The food was delicious and the portions generous. It felt more like a five-star lodge. Well done, guys, keep it up. I'll definitely come again.

I won't be coming back. The self-catering unit felt very cramped, with nowhere to prepare food and no table or chairs to eat at. The lounge chairs and big low coffee table would be better swapped for a small dining table and two solid chairs. Lighter bedding, decor and wall colours would probably suit guests more. A tin of paint can make a surprising difference.

When I'm in Richards Bay for work, this is where I prefer to stay. It's quiet and comfortable, the internet is good, and there's generator backup. The place has a laid-back, home-away-from-home feel, so turning up barefoot for breakfast is fine. I won't stay anywhere
