It gives the impression of having once been a very nice hotel, though now there are signs of better days gone by. Some things seem neglected, like the mismatched lightbulbs, random holes in the ceilings, stained carpets, and bad coffee in the rooms. A little upkeep and a few small changes would make the place nicer. Even so, those issues didn’t take away too much from our lovely stay. We’d definitely stay again next time we’re in town for a wedding.

The garden was seriously overgrown, and the pictures on the website didn’t match what we found on site. We were also told breakfast wasn’t available and to try Panera bakery, where the food was below par. Room number 1 was spacious and comfortable, but the double bed mattress was in terrible condition and made for a very uncomfortable night. It needs replacing because it isn’t serviceable. We stayed one night, and while this place has a fantastic venue and echoes former glory days, it’s in dire need of serious maintenance. Next time I’d rather spend more and stay at the Royal Hotel in Riebeek Kasteel.

The garden is gorgeous, and the whole getaway from the city was simply amazing. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms had everything we needed for a pleasant stay, and breakfast was delicious.

Felicia and her team made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Their warmth, professionalism, and genuine care stood out, and they went above and beyond to make the stay memorable. Everything at Riebeeck Valley Hotel, from the atmosphere and comfort to the service and attention to detail, exceeded our expectations. A real gem. We highly recommend it for a relaxing, unforgettable stay, and we’ll gladly go out of our way to return. Thanks again for such an incredible visit!

We visited the Riebeek Valley Hotel for Christmas Carols. The gardens were beautiful, the staff friendly, and the atmosphere lovely.
