The breakfast room opens onto the pool and garden, a lovely place to unwind, and Hilda prepares the complimentary meal herself. Luc and Hilda also run the hotel and gave us excellent service. Ballinderry sits on a leafy, quiet street in Robertson, and the peaceful setting suits this charming boutique hotel. Our room was clean and tidy, with air conditioning, a fan, a modern bathroom and a safe in the cupboard. The bed was comfortable, with quality bedding, useful bedside lights and a heated electric blanket. The TV would be better at the foot of the bed than off to one side, though the layout may make that hard. Parking off the street is tight for larger vehicles. The area seemed safe enough to park on the street.

We'd found another place to stay, but when we arrived the rooms felt more like a stable, so we started looking again. Ballinderry had a room for us for one night, and it was just right: spotless, warm and welcoming, with delicious food. The Belgian chocolate brownies were especially good, though everything we had was excellent. It absolutely earned its five stars.

The pool looked so inviting, but the weather didn't cooperate. There were plenty of comfortable spots to relax in the garden, and the guesthouse itself was clean, beautiful and clearly well cared for. Our hosts made us feel at home, and breakfast had lots of choices. I especially liked the savoury French toast with crispy bacon. Nothing to complain about.
