We were there during the week and it felt like we had the place to ourselves. The river nearby is so calming, and the riverside walk is fun. If you're up for a waterfall, the walk there is a must, and swimming beneath it was a special treat. Sabie Star was fantastic, with very clean, well-kept accommodation. Logan was great and shared lots of useful information about Sabie and the surrounding area.

The outdoor setting was the real gem, easily worth 4/5 stars on its own. There's a peaceful river, lovely forest views and a waterfall you can hike to, all with the feel of a luxury outdoor resort at a reasonable price. I was a little let down by the rooms, especially the bed, and by the smell when we first walked in.

The river just below the chalets gives the place a jungle feel, and there was plenty to do. Breakfast was amazing. We celebrated my husband's birthday and our engagement there, and the stay went far beyond what we'd expected. Even though it was a while ago, those memories are still with me. The owners are warm-hearted, creative, chatty and kind, and the service was fantastic. Thank you for such an unforgettable time. Definitely a must-stay when you're in the area.

I really enjoyed the river walk, and the owners were humble and kind. Their dogs were kind too. Deep in the forest, the place has a refreshing atmosphere. A lovely spot, and I'll be back.
