Dear Ann, thanks so much for making us feel welcome and for sharing such inspiring ideas about the area and new places to travel. We slept soundly on the comfortable mattresses and had early bird tea in our room. Your breakfast made especially for us set us up for the day. And the view was breathtaking, a panorama from the Kromriver to the Indien Ocean.

My experience with this guest house was very disappointing. I booked well ahead in January for Easter weekend, but they cancelled on Good Friday, the day before my planned stay, saying they had double booked. That suggests poor management and inadequate booking control. Cancelling so late was unprofessional and extremely inconvenient, especially as I’d already made plans around the stay. It caused me unnecessary stress. I wouldn’t recommend the place based on what happened. Reliability and clear communication matter in hospitality.

The sea view was great, and at first glance the place seemed nice. But that was the only positive. There were lots of stains on the bed linen and towels, and the older owners weren’t very flexible. Their friendliness felt fake, and they didn’t really respond to our comments about cleanliness. The rooms also smelled strongly of cowsheds because of the thatched roof. I wouldn’t recommend it for a nice stay in St. Francis.

We had a wonderful three-night stay at I-lollo lodge and would definitely recommend it. The seaview room is worth choosing, the scenery from bed is beautiful. Breakfast was tasty, and there were fresh rusks in our room each morning. The beds were super comfy, and the electric blankets came in handy on cooler evenings. Everything was excellent. We had an awesome stay and are planning to return very soon!
